America's largest and the most encompassing national day of helping others.
Last year, in Sarasota County more than 50 different teams, groups, clubs and/or associations participated, generating more than 750 individuals volunteering on the same day at more than 56 different locations. Young and old, individuals and groups, can carry out a volunteer project that helps others. Mark your calendar for Make A Difference Day 2009, to be held on October 24, 2009. If you would like more information on how to become a sponsor, how to register your team/group to be involved or have a project please contact our office.
Each year Friendship Volunteer Center recruits volunteer companies and organizations to paint houses in Sarasota County for seniors and other families in need. The homes selected must meet all of the 4 criteria’s listed below.
1. House must be owner occupied.
2. Must provide proof of ownership of property.
3. Owner must have a limited income.
4. Owner must have a valid reason for needing assistance.
If you feel that you may qualify for this program please complete the attached form and return to our office. Submission of request is not a guarantee the home will be selected to be painted.
